What this formatter supports
ATX headings (# through ######) become ordinary text. Simple paired *emphasis*, **strong text** and underscore emphasis lose their markers. Hyphen, star and plus lists use plain hyphens; nested list indentation and numbered list numbers stay in place. Inline links become label (URL), including destinations with one level of parentheses.
Closed backtick or tilde code fences lose only their opening and closing lines; code inside is kept verbatim. Single-backtick inline code keeps its contents. Paragraphs and punctuation stay in place, and Windows or old Mac line endings become consistent newlines. No decorative Unicode letters are generated.
This is a bounded adapter, not a full Markdown parser. HTML, images, reference links, blockquotes, task lists, tables, indented code and horizontal rules stay as literal text with a warning when detected. Other unmatched markers remain visible. HTML and script snippets are never rendered or executed.
